Philly Slam

Props to Phil Mickelson for winning the Masters yesterday. If he can manage to win the next two this year, he will have his own little Philly Slam. While the folks on the Golf Channel last night seemed to think he went out and got this one, my thoughts as I was watching the final round yesterday were that he wasn't so much winning as everyone else was falling back. Sure, Phil played the best golf yesterday, and that's what ultimately won it for him, but it's also true that every time anyone started to put a little run together (Tiger, Vijay, Olazabal), they would bogey the next hole. Consistency is what won this title for Mickelson, not a back nine charge like we saw in 2004. Funny, I never thought I would be writing that last sentence when talking about Phil Mickelson.
